There are guides for good old fashioned PVCu casement windows. The most popular. I am always getting asked, how much would replacement windows “roughly” be. Wonder no more. How much do new windows cost? They do come in lots of colours, and they are made to measure when replacing, so styles and openers can be made to suit.
If you are looking to retain the character, or even go for a clean modern look then a flush casement window might be the correct choice. More expensive than a casement window, but not as much as aluminium or timber, they can be a brilliant option. In my opinion not enough people consider them. A new front door – how much? I get asked this a lot. The answer is it varies, but if you have a look at the composite door cost article, it will give you a starting point and explain why they are the most popular entrance door choice by quite some distance.
Old wooden sash windows, lovely but a pain in the backside when it comes to maintenance and keeping warm. I should know, I lived with them for many years, and now I rent the property out and have the expense of maintaining/ replacing them. I am considering a PVCu alternative, as you will see from the image below, the appearance is pretty good compared to the wooden version.
